Learning can not be confined to classrooms and one sided conversations. It needs to be driven by experiences, interaction and inspiration.
Solution Overview /

Establishing a community of students who are driven by initiating change and revolutionising the education system. This organisation conducts events and workshops that help introduce and open up career options for their peers. By ideating and executing these initiatives, the organisation members can explore opportunities to network, understand the importance of team work, and develop their leadership skills. The Climber student organisation has conducted 30+ events in 10+ cities in India.

The Outcome /

A youth organisation that gives the students the power to initiate discussion with their peers, parents and school/university authorities. As a part of the organisation, the students design & conduct various events and workshops that help motivate students to pursue their passions. While these events inspire and motivate their peers, the organisation members themselves learn a plethora of soft skills. Their active participation leads to both experiential and transformative learning, forcing them to find unique solutions to the challenges at hand.

One of the major factors that impacted the design of the organisation structure was to facilitate bottom up innovation. It was clear from our research that the students did not feel heard and needed a platform to express themselves and their interests.

Another factor was that the students did not have a lot of time to dedicate to this. We needed a structure that could help maximise participation while keeping in check the time requirement.

The structure was designed to help students understand the different roles and departments involved in managing a service/event. This helps students experience the roles of different departments in companies and organisations in the real world and figure out their calling.

Once the 1st set of members delivered an event, we spoke to them about the shortcoming of the structure and refined it.

Initial Organisation Structure

Once this structure was implemented we realised that students were interested in participating and organising events, but a major drawback was the time commitment. Also, the national Executive Board(EB) was unable to understand the local realities of the different city/University Entities and hence became stagnant.

Event Branding /

The members of the graphic design and marketing team brand the event from scratch as well as come up with the marketing strategies for their events. This helps them get an insight into the industry and also contributes to their portfolio. Over the years I have mentored and led student designers as young as 16 year olds to come up with brand guidelines as well as all the marketing material required for the events.

I have worked with multiple student teams in helping them bring their creative visions for the events alive. I have mentored them to understand the basics of graphic design, branding and the value it brings.
